Krypto the SuperDog

Smallville, USA - March 25, 2005  The fetching new animated series Krypto the Superdog will get a Cartoon Network sneak peek Friday, March 25, 2005 at 9:30am.  The series will debut in a regularly scheduled time slot, Monday, April 4, 2005 at 9:00am.  Geared to a pre-schoolers, the show focuses on Krypto the dog from the planet Krypton, blasted into space as a test pilot in a rocket ship built by Superman’s father Jor-El.  When the rocket malfunctions, it careens out of orbit and crash lands on Earth.  Seeking companionship, Krypto finds Kevin Whitney.  Endowed with an array of superpowers, Krypto partners with Kevin to fight evil forces that threaten the well being of the people and animals of Metropolis.  Krypto establishes a secret hideout, the “Fortress of Doggietude” and by chasing his tail at super speeds, goes from his secret identity of a normal dog into Superdog, a dog who can fly, with super strength, super hearing and X-ray vision.  Krypto is joined by a team of animal crimefighters including Streaky the Supercat, Batman’s dog, Bat Hound (who has his own utility belt) and The Dog Star Patrol, a band of intergalactic dogs who join forces to protect the universe.  Superman will also appear in the series.
