Super Q

Miami, Florida - 1980  Here is Super “Q” George in motion, playing the electric bass guitar with a soul band!  I was 24 years old at the time and Super Q was the name of a Latin radio station in Miami back then.  This is the first of two Kramer electric bass guitars that I have used over the years.  They both had aluminum necks.  I played them through this Acoustic 371 bass amplifier, which was one of the most popular and most powerful ones available at the time.  It consisted of an Acoustic 370 head and an Acoustic 301 bottom, which had a Cerwin-Vega 18-inch speaker in a folded horn enclosure.  I eventually added a row of four Radio Shack tweaters to it that was mounted inside the cabinet hanging from the top.  This added more highs and definition, and it made a huge difference.
